In celebration of National Police Week, the City of Lawrenceville kicks off the fifth annual Light Lawrenceville Blue celebration. Each year, residents and merchants around the city light up their homes and businesses with blue bulbs in support of law enforcement and first responders. See drone footage from a previous celebration.
“It is a beautiful tradition in our city,” said Melissa Hardegree, Community Relations Director. “We are incredibly proud of our police department and other first responders and grateful for their service. This special week gives us a visible way to show our appreciation as a community.”
City staff tested multiple blue bulbs and selected the type listed below, which can be purchased at your favorite retailer. The community is invited to share photos of their homes and businesses with blue bulbs on display on Instagram - using the hashtag #LightLawrencevilleBlue. Bulb information is as follows: Sunlite 80145 Blue LED A19 3 Watt Medium Base 120 Volt UL Listed LED Light Bulb lasts 25,000 Hours.
The City of Lawrenceville and the Lawrenceville Police Department are grateful for the community’s continued support during five years of Lighting Lawrenceville Blue. For additional information, follow the City of Lawrenceville on social media and visit www.downtownlawrencevillega.com.
