Asian Student Alliance presents Lunch Box
Sunday, May 29, 2022
Lunch Box is an original play written and performed by the high school students of the Asian Student Alliance (ASA).
Lunch Box is an original play written and performed by the high school students of the Asian Student Alliance (ASA), a 501c3 non-profit organization in Metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. This educational play portrays the lived experiences of the ASA students. The play is set in 2021, more than 170 years after the first Asians immigrated to the United States, and the same year of the racially motivated shootings at two Atlanta area spas, where 8 people were killed, 6 of whom were Asian American women. The performance is approximately one hour in length and will be followed by a 45-minute student-led discussion with the audience. The purpose of the production is to educate non-AAPIs about some of the common experiences of the AAPI community. By sharing our stories, we hope to grow empathy, collaboration, and harmony in our local and global communities.
